COPA DE LAS AMÉRICAS 2005
PUERTO VALLARTA MÉXICO |

Puerto Vallarta is located
in the western part of the state of Jalisco, which extends
geographically over 1,300.67 Km2 , at an altitude of 2 meters
above sea level. It includes land from the Triassic-Jurassic
period, which can be determined from thick calcareous layers.
The majority of the land surface is made
up of accidented zones to the west of the San Sebastian and
Cuale mountain ranges which form part of the Sierra Madre
Occidental. These mountains protect it from wind, and act
to moderate the climate.
Puerto Vallarta is surrounded by jungle,
with some fresh water lakes nearby. Because of this, open
air activities like golf are ideal for this beautiful spot.
